Christine Kern has been working in Douglas County School District for twenty-four years. She worked as a Kindergarten Educational Assistant, a Kindergarten Enrichment teacher and now is a Kindergarten teacher at Eldorado Elementary. In 2008, she earned a B.A. in Interdisciplinary Studies/Literacy and Teacher certification from Adams State University. At Eldorado, she is a teacher representative for the Building Leadership Team. She is inspired to create a positive, warm and caring learning environment that establishes lifelong learners.

Leah Allred is a Kindergarten teacher at Eldorado Elementary School. This is her first year teaching in the classroom, but her 3rd year at Eldorado and 9th year as part of the Eldorado community. Leah grew up in West Virginia and New Mexico. She earned her bachelor’s degree at New Mexico State University and is currently pursuing her master’s degree in Elementary Education. Leah has lived in Highlands Ranch for 8 years with her husband and 4 sons. She is committed to ensuring every child receives the education they deserve. Leah works hard to create a safe, creative, curious, collaborative, empathetic, and inclusive environment in her classroom. She believes in building a strong academic foundation that will benefit her students throughout their lives.

Krisie Hamilton - Kindergarten Teacher

Krisie has taught for twenty three years at Eldorado Elementary School, opening it with many of the beloved teachers who are still here today. Krisie has extensive training in Gifted and Talented learning, Early Childhood Education and Guided Reading. She is so very glad to be working in her "home school" with so many familiar staff and community members giving lots of hugs.

NOTICE OF DESTRUCTION OF SPECIAL EDUCATION RECORDS

Special Education records which have been collected by Douglas County School District related to the identification, evaluation, educational placement, or the provision of special education in the district, must be maintained under state and federal laws for the period of five (5) years after special education services have ended for the student. Special education services end when the student is no longer eligible for services, graduates, or completes his/her educational program at age 21, or moves from the district. This notification is to inform parents/guardians and former students of Douglas County School District's intent to destroy the special education records of students who exited special education services as of June 30, 2016. These records will be destroyed in accordance with state law unless the parent/guardian or eligible (adult) student notifies the school district otherwise. After five years, the records are no longer useful to the district, but may be useful to the parent/guardian or former student in applying for social security benefits, rehabilitation services, college entrance, etc. The parent/guardian or eligible (adult) student may request a copy of the records by requesting the records by email to [email protected].
