Ms. Carpenter has been teaching in DCSD for over ten years; she taught 5th grade for 7 years and this will be her fifth year teaching 6th grade. Within this departmentalized team, Ms. Carpenter teaches the best subject...reading! When she is not teaching, she loves to read and spend time with family and friends, but her favorite thing to do is travel. Be sure to ask her about her most recent summer adventures! Ms. Carpenter is looking forward to continuing to challenge and inspire lifelong learners.
Karla Maynard, 6th Grade Teacher
karla.maynard@dcsdk12.org
Ms. Maynard has been teaching since 1992, after graduating from the University of Texas in Austin. She taught in Texas and California before moving to Colorado and opening Eldorado in 2011. Ms. Maynard has taught second through sixth grade and loved them all (although 6th grade is her very favorite). For the past several years, she has departmentalized with the 6th grade team and taught science and social studies. When she is not teaching, Ms. Maynard loves to spend time with her family and friends, walk her dog, read lots of books and enjoy beautiful Colorado.
